Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Sock Jock’s Taylor Marie grew up with music in her blood. Some of her earliest memories include leaving Sunday church services to go play the old, out-of-tune piano in the choir room.
At 8, she formed her first band and developed as a musician thru collaborations and mentorships at church.
At 13, she went through a series of traumatic medical battles that left her bed-ridden and isolated from her friends and family, turning to music as a therapeutic outlet.
By high school, Taylor had been recording covers and some originals for friends, and even won a high school Battle Of The Bands contest – all of which inspired her to keep developing her skills and fostering a love for playing live.
