Pharmakos is the solo project of Cole Garner Hill, a musician, artist and writer originally from Grapevine, Texas. Growing up a skinny asthmatic movie nerd in the heart of the Bible Belt and Football Country in the Dallas suburbs, Hill spent his early adulthood as the singer of a metal band before recording the first Pharmakos songs in 2011. Hill now creates what he calls “cinematic” music as a form of therapy and escape: experimental, evocative songs that harness improvisation and sampling to create a head-spinning mix of ambient, electronic, noise, post-punk, shoegaze and metal. Hill currently lives on Long Island, NY, with his wife and child, where he records in his home studio.
